Shriyanka wins Asian junior air-gun bronze

Ace Odia markswoman Shriyanka Sadangi won a bronze medal in junior women’s  10-metre air-rifle team event of the 6th Asian Air-gun Shooting Championship at Tehran, Iran yesterday. Other two shooters of the Indian team were Anjum Mudgir and Shalini Chahar. Host Iran captured the gold, while China bagged the silver.

This was the 11th international medal for Sambalpur lass Shriyanka, who is now based in Delhi and trains at Gagan Narang’s shooting academy, Gun for Glory at Pune. Her other 10 international medals include three gold, six silver and one bronze.

Shriyaka is expected to return home on Sunday and prepare herself for the National Schooting Championship, scheduled to be held at Delhi in December.
